Scholarship Committee Info Session: Charting a Path Toward Higher Education

College & Career Exploration Series Registration at FBCCH


The Hospitality and Scholarship Committee of the First Baptist Church of Crown Heights (FBCCH) is thrilled to announce a comprehensive series of workshops tailored to guide students through the transformative journey of college applications and stepping into the workforce. Over six meticulously crafted sessions from October to March, we aim to provide thorough assistance, addressing key areas of this crucial phase in a student's life. Each workshop will take place between 1:30-3:30 PM.

Workshop Schedule & Details:

  1. October 14, 2023: "How Do I Write an Influential Essay?" Dive deep into the art of crafting compelling essays for college admissions and scholarship applications.

  2. November 4, 2023: "Which School is Best For Me?" Unravel the complexities of selecting an institution that aligns with your aspirations and gain insights into completing the application process effectively.

  3. December 2, 2023: "Career Opportunities: Jobs, Internships, Recruitment." Equip yourself with the knowledge to locate and secure opportunities tailored to your professional goals.

  4. January 6, 2024: "How Do I Pay For College?" Navigate the myriad of financial aid options available. Special Note: Parents are strongly encouraged to attend this session for a holistic understanding.

  5. February 10, 2024: "What Do I Say? What Do I Wear?" Master the intricacies of interviews — from selecting the appropriate attire to honing communication skills that leave a lasting impression.

  6. March 9, 2024: "Are You Ready?" An exclusive session for High School seniors! Engage in candid conversations with recent college graduates and stand a chance to benefit from college giveaways.
