Special Achievement Award

FOR college STUDENTS

OBJECTIVE:
This Special Achievement Award was established for upper sophomore, junior and senior
college students to support their continued education.


 GRADUATE STUDENTS ARE INELIGIBLE 


ELIGIBILITY:
1. To request an application, the student must have completed a minimum of 3
semesters of college courses.
2. Must carry a minimum of twelve (12) credits per semester.
3. Must be currently attending an accredited school seeking an Associates or
Bachelor’s degree.
4. Must have a cumulative “B” average (3.0 in a 4.0 system).
5. Must be a United States Citizen and reside in (NY, NJ, or CT).

REGISTRATION FORMS IS MARCH 31, 2024 BY 11:59PM

AWARD:
The Scholarship Committee will grant these awards to successful applicants in two
installments, (FALL AND SPRING). Upon receipt of requested information, checks
will be mailed to the address on the application.


SELECTION PROCESS:
The interview panel will consist of scholarship members, church members, and
community representatives. The criteria for selecting the successful students will be
based on:
1. Academic achievements
2. Autobiography
3. Letters of recommendation (MUST BE SIGNED BY THE WRITER)
4. Interview by the Scholarship Panel mandatory, SATURDAY
APRIL 27, 2024
Recipient of an award must attend Recognition Ceremony on Sunday
JUNE 09, 2024 or the award will be forfeited.

NO CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO INCOMPLETE PACKAGE OR
LATE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION


The package must include the following:


 Complete Application.
 Official College transcript (THROUGH FALL SEMESTER OF SOPHOMORE YEAR).
 Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (MUST BE SIGNED BY THE WRITER)


The letters may be from your professor, your counselor, job supervisor
or any professional person.


 Autobiography – 400-500 words, typewritten and double-spaced.


 Recent photo of you. (Photo will not be returned). No sports outfit

IMPORTANT – Your autobiography should also include your career goals and
how you plan to accomplish them in the next 5-10 years.


The Screening Committee seeks to know who you are, and the events that have
influenced and shaped your life.


You should highlight those aspects of your personal development that are
important to you and explain why you view them as such.
