The First Baptist Church was founded on April 30, 1953 for the purpose of proclaiming a gospel message relevant to man’s need in a changing society. We preach a risen Christ who works toward the liberation of men from all forms of oppression whether it be spiritual, social, political or economic.

The First Baptist Church of Crown Heights is a friendly, Bible-based and Christ-centered church that seeks to convert the world to Christ by living the Great Commandment: “Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself (Matt. 22:37-39) while carrying out the Great Commission: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matt 28:19-20)
